Hyatt Regency adding 460 rooms at Chicago locale
The Hyatt Regency McCormick Place hotel in Chicago will soon undergo an expansion, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. A 15-story, 460-room expansion will be built atop an existing parking deck adjacent to the existing 800-room convention hotel.
The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, which runs McCormick Place convention complex, said work on the addition will likely start by the end of this year. Plans also call for the existing Hyatt, which opened in 1998, to undergo a renovation.
Completion is expected in late 2013. Firms working on the project include Clark Construction Group LLC, Bulley & Andrews LLC and the architectural firm Goettsch Partners Inc., the Sun-Times reports.
