The MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip has taken the wraps off the designs for the updated rooms and suites in its main tower. The just-launched remodel, with an estimated price tag of $160 million, includes all of the tower’s 3,570 guest rooms and 642 suites.

The first batch of new rooms will be ready by the end of November, and the overall upgrade is slated to be finished by September 2012. The updated interiors were created by the in-house design team at MGM Resorts.

The updated rooms feature “warm, yet vibrant designs and color palettes with contemporary furnishings, designed to create comfortable and functional spaces within a sophisticated setting,” MGM Resorts said in a news release. The spaces will also incorporate several sustainable features, including LED lighting; upgraded thermostats and solar shades; and new faucets and showers.
