Mumbai complex to include Bellagio, MGM Grand hotels
MGM Hospitality said it has signed definitive agreements to develop and operate a Bellagio hotel, an MGM Grand hotel and a Skylofts hotel in Mumbai, India. Those non-gaming developments will be located in Maker Maxity, a 20-acre integrated commercial, entertainment, and hospitality complex in the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai’s new central business district.
“The [hotels’] proximity to Bollywood and the affluent Bandra neighborhood provides a perfect setting for the confluence of energy, indulgence and luxury that the Bellagio, MGM Grand and Skylofts locales will bring to the destination," said Gamal Aziz, ceo of MGM Hospitality, a unit of Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International. “MGM is honored to be selected for this landmark project which marks a huge milestone in our strategy to extend our brand reach in the sophisticated and fast growing Indian hospitality market.”
In its announcement about the new hotels, MGM Hospitality did not disclose a timeframe for developing and opening the locales.
