Designer Mark Cunningham overseeing update

The 101-key Raleigh hotel in Miami’s South Beach will soon undergo an upgrade. The restoration, which will be overseen by designer Mark Cunningham, is being funded with a $20 million loan that owner Brilla Group recently closed on.

The renovation is slated to be completed in December, and the hotel will remain open during that work. “We are here to ensure that the legacy and beauty of this hotel remains for future generations. It is our goal to continue enhancing this property to ensure that it performs at its highest level,” says David Brillembourg, Brilla’s chairman/ceo.

The art deco-style Raleigh hotel was acquired by Brilla, a real estate private equity firm, in 2009. It is located on the corner of 18th Street and Collins Avenue in Miami.
