Frosty venue to open next month at Monte Carlo
Minus5, which opened the first ice lounge in America at Mandalay Bay nearly two years ago, will open a second locale in Las Vegas next month, at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Like its predecessor, the new Minus5 Ice Bar will feature a 1,200-square foot ice-encased room where everything is made of Canadian ice, including the bar, tables, benches, walls and the glasses guests drink from. The space – whose room temperature is set a 23 degrees Fahrenheit (-5 degrees Celsius) – will also house a variety of ice sculptures and hand-carved ice pieces.
“Minus5 has become a destination location for people who want to experience something truly unique and exciting - and Las Vegas is a natural fit for what we offer,” said Craig Ling, founder and vice president of development for the company, which got its start in New Zealand.
