220-key resort earns green status as new build
Montage Deer Valley was awarded LEED Silver certification for new constructions by the U.S. Green Building Council. The 220-key mountain resort is the first resort in Utah to earn LEED certification.
The properties green designation reflects the site selection, sustainable building practices, indoor environmental quality, and green housekeeping, purchasing, operating and landscaping policies. The resort also uses regional and recycled materials and energy and water efficient equipment.
"It's a fitting tribute to our developer, The Athens Group, our designers, construction team, Park City and the ongoing efforts of the entire Montage Deer Valley staff that luxury and sustainability can be synonymous," says Alan Fuerstman, founder and ceo of Montage Hotels & Resorts.
Montage Deer Valley is comprised of 154 guestrooms and more than 66 suites and private residences, and opened in Park City, Utah, in Dec. 2010.
