Architectural firm HOK's design of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Moscow will feature a unique interior mimicking a Faberge egg. The 250-room luxury hotel will be housed in a redeveloped historic building that was constructed in the early 19th Century as a private manor house.

The building will retain two of its historic facades, while its interior will feature a contemporary take on a Faberge egg -- a streamlined, spherical vessel cascading into the central atria similar to a waterfall. HOK has also created an "upside-down" layout for the hotel, by having customers check-in at a sky lobby level. The hotel will also house restaurants, bars, a spa and 70,000 square feet of retail space dedicated to luxury brands.

Construction is scheduled to begin on site by the end of this year, with the hotel scheduled to open in 2011.
