The soon-to-launch Celebrity Equinox will feature "The Essence of Equinox," a collection of nearly 500 original works, including two major site-specific installations:

• The Argentinean duo Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt are creating an enormous, suspended vase that will be dotted with more than 500,000 Swarovski crystals and - hold a live, 18-foot-tall tree in the upper portion of the ship's grand foyer. The installation will be paired with a sparkling display of the maxim "Here Comes the Sun" that will span four decks.
• Los Angeles-based Jose Pardo, known for emphasizing social interaction as art, transforms Celebrity Equinox's Ensemble Lounge vestibule into a site for relaxation with "Still Life for Leisure," a minimal cushioned bench and other furnishings set amidst a blend of color and light.

The Equinox is the latest addition to Royal Caribbean's Celebrity fleet. It has 1,426 staterooms and is slated to set sail July 31.
