Oceania Ships Mark Building Milestones

Work proceeds on Marina and Riviera


Oceania Cruises has celebrated construction milestones for two new ships being built at the Fincantieri shipyard near Genoa, Italy: The building dock for the1,258-guest Marina began filling with water, and the first steel was cut for Riviera, a sister ship. The Marina is scheduled to sail her maiden voyage in January 2011; while the Riviera is slated to debut in April 2012.

Each ship will offer 629 elegantly upscale accommodations, ranging from 174 sq. ft. to 2,000-plus sq. ft. The ships' top-end suites will feature furnishings from Ralph Lauren Home and designs by Dakota Jackson and Tocar New York. The sister ships will also feature Lalique-designed grand lobbies, a variety of dining venues, bars and lounges, full-service Canyon Ranch SpaClubs and Bon Appetit Culinary Centers.
