Olive Garden announced that more than 400 of its restaurants across the United States will get interior or exterior design refreshes inspired by the farmhouses in Tuscany, Italy. The newly remodeled interiors will include new tables, chairs, booths, window treatments and décor elements. Exterior updates will include new front doors surrounded by Tuscan stones and a brick arch, freshly-painted exterior walls and newly-planted Cypress trees.

“We believe the farmhouse design reinforces our vision by creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the genuine Italian experience at Olive Garden," said Dan Kiernan, executive vice president of operations for the chain, which is a unit of Darden Restaurants.

Olive Garden, which operates more than 700 restaurants, says the design updates will be completed by June 2013.
