$85 million overhaul includes added guest rooms
The 249-key Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort in Florida is undergoing an $85 million renovation that includes the addition of 155 guest rooms its north end. The makeover will be completed in spring 2013.
This extensive renovation will also add 20,000 sq. ft. to the hotel’s meeting and event space, with a 16,500-sq.-ft. ballroom and new pre-function area; a new lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows; and a steak house, pizza eatery, sushi/tapas restaurant and pool side bar.
The luxury resort was originally designed in 1972 and its existing amenities include a two-tiered poolscape and Beach Club; a nature-inspired spa with yoga treehouse; nine on-property culinary options; a fitness center and a shopping village with boutiques, restaurants and gift shops.
