YTL Hotels has hired Sarah Cairns as its Singapore-based executive vice president of marketing communications.

Orient-Express Hotels Ltd has started work on the Palacio Nazarenas hotel in Cuzco, Peru. The $14.1 million, 56-key property is scheduled to open in 2011 in a converted historic convent. It will feature 17 deluxe oxygen-enriched rooms.

Marriott International has signed management agreements with Phoenix Hospitality Company Pvt. Ltd. to add two more hotels to its lodging portfolio in India in 2012: the 300-room Mumbai Marriott Hotel Kurla, and the 165-room Courtyard by Marriott Agra.

InterContinental Hotels Group announced that the 250th Candlewood Suites hotel has opened, in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Choice Hotels International has opened a 151-key Cambria Suites hotel in Aurora, Colo.

Moe's Southwest Grill has opened its first green restaurant, in Williston, Vt. The company is seeking LEED silver certification for the fast-casual restaurant.

Destination Hotels & Resorts will manage the Manor Vail Lodge in Colorado. The 140-unit condominium resort is located in the Vail Mountain ski area's Golden Peak base.

Doubletree Hotels has opened a 177-room property at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The hotel, formerly a Sheraton, is operated by Columbia Properties Hebron LLC under a franchise agreement with a subsidiary of Hilton Worldwide

Linen designer Cristina Azario has created custom linens and top-of-bed accessories for guest rooms of The Chatwal New York, which is slated to open in spring 2010.

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., has won a Five Star Award for a record 50th consecutive year by the Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Award (formerly Mobil Five-Star Award by Mobil Travel Guide). Additionally, the historic resort became a triple Five Star winner for 2010 with the addition of both Penrose Room restaurant and The Spa at Broadmoor.

Accor North America, parent company of Motel 6, Studio 6, Sofitel and Novotel brands, recently held its annual franchise conference at Club Med in Ixtapa, Mexico, during which it honored the following franchisees and vendors: Franchise of the Year, Motel 6 No. 4265, in Grand Island, Neb., owned and operated by Bosselman Inc.; Franchise Supplier of the Year, HD Supply; the Quality & Consistency Award to Motel 6 No. 4076, in Redmond, Ore., owned an operated by Jayanti Patel; and the Motel 6/Studio 6 Partnership of the Year, Harshad Patel, of Hollywood Host Ventures Inc.

MTS Seating received the 2009 Editors' Choice Award at the recent International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show for its Impilato Series stack chair by Tolleson Saul Design, which was the winner in the décor category.

Sage Hospitality Resources, owners and operators of Denver's first hotel, The Oxford Hotel, received the Trane Energy Efficiency Leader in Lodging Award for its commitment to operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.
