Steakhouse chain to upgrade 175 locales
OSI Restaurant Partners LLC plans to renovate as many as 175 Outback Steakhouse locales this year, Nation’s Restaurant News reports. Dirk Montgomery, OSI’s cfo, outlined those plans in a conference call with securities analysts about the company’s second-quarter earnings.
During the first half of this year, the company has renovated 84 units, up from a total of 60 updates for all of 2010. The updates, which usually take three to six months and typically result in a traffic lift of 5 percent, include what the company describes as “a more contemporary expression” of its Australian theme, using updated colors, fabrics, textures, art, lighting, props and murals, NRN reports.
