Atlantis, the Palm resort in Dubai is now open for business, Travelmole.com reports. The $1.5 billion, 1,539-room resort is located at the center of the crescent of the man-made Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai. The complex showcases the talents of such high-profile designers as Jeffrey Beers, David Rockwell, Adam Tihany and Wilson Associates. It includes the Aquaventure water park; retail stores; 17 restaurants, bars and lounges; a two-story spa and fitness center; and meeting/convention facilities. Atlantis, the Palm is a joint venture between Dubai's government-owned Istithmar and Kerzner International, which also manages five luxury resort hotels under the One&Only brand.
