Paul Gauguin Ship Getting $6 million in Upgrades

The French Polynesian luxury ship, Paul Gauguin, will undergo a $6 million renovation during its dry dock in Brisbane, Australia. The overhaul of the 332-passenger Paul Gauguin Shipping Ltd vessel will include converting 26 ocean-view staterooms to balcony staterooms; renovating all other staterooms and suites; updating its restaurants; and refurbishing all of its public areas, including new carpeting, upholstery and refinished woodwork. The work is scheduled to be finished in early February 2009. The ship will remain a part of Regent Seven Seas Cruises' fleet until 2010.
