Gaming/hotel complex planned near Maryland border
Mason-Dixon Resort & Casino has hired Penn National Gaming Inc. to develop and manage the resort and gaming operations at a development planned for southern Adams County, Pa., near the Pennsylvania/Maryland border.
Situated in what is currently the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center and Allstar Funland, the planned $75 million Mason-Dixon Resort & Casino is slated to house a 300-plus-key hotel, a casino and meeting/exposition facilities. A specific timetable for renovating and reopening the property as a casino has not yet been announced.
The Mason-Dixon complex would be Penn National's second casino in its home state (the company is based in Wyomissing, Pa.); the other is the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course near Grantville, Pa. Overall, Penn National owns and operates 19 gaming operations in 15 jurisdictions.
