Pepin Plans Bistro on New Oceania Ship

(July 2009) posted on Thu Jul 23, 2009 EDT

Master French Chef Jacques Pepin will open Jacques -- his first restaurant at sea -- onboard Oceania Cruises' new Marina, which is scheduled to launch in late 2010. Pepin said his namesake restaurant will draw inspiration from bistros in Paris and his home town of Lyon.

Pepin is executive culinary director for Oceania Cruises, and has created gourmet restaurants onboard three sister ships of the Marina. Jacques will feature chandeliers fashioned from crystal decanters, as well as an art collection that will include some of Pepin's favorite pieces.

"As we designed the culinary experience aboard Marina, a restaurant by Jacques Pepin was at the top of our guests' wish lists," said Bob Binder, Oceania Cruises' president. "Jacques will present a traditional French dining experience in a casually elegant fashion."
