SoHo restaurant to open in November

Pera Mediterranean Brasserie will open its second New York locale later this fall. The Eastern Mediterranean restaurant, which debuted in 2006 in midtown Manhattan, will open a 3,000-sq.-ft. locale on SoHo’s Thompson Street in November.

Pera SoHo will seat 105 inside, and will feature a main dining area, a bar/lounge and access to a roof deck that will be used for outdoor dining. The space is being designed by DYAMI Architect, in conjunction with owner Burak Karacam.

Pera SoHo will be Karacam's fourth food service venture. He also has a line of Pera-branded Mediterranean meats sold online and at retail, and the Pera Turkish Tacos food truck, situated at Tavern on the Green since last October.

“The further expansion of the Pera brand with another restaurant has been in the cards for a long time, before the national launch of the products or that of the food truck,” says Karacam. “But I was very particular about its location and the attributes of it, with one of my ‘musts’ being outdoor space, given its prevalence for dining across the Mediterranean. I was willing to wait until I could identify the absolutely right site for the second Pera. At the Thompson Street site I found it.”
