Vegas-style resort slated for Inner Mongolia
Developer China Holdings Inc. has hired the architecture/design firm of Perkins Eastman to create the master plan for a Las Vegas-style mega-development in Inner Mongolia, China. The development, called “China Vegas - The New World Resort City,” will be built around a 1,235-acre urban center containing a large destination resort complex.
New York-based Perkins Eastman will create the city framework for the development, along with plans for its resort and entertainment districts. Work on the complex is slated to begin either next year or in 2011, and open in phases from 2014-2018. It is slated to include:
* Entertainment destinations, including: five-star hotels, themed casinos, pedestrian skyways linking hotels to casinos, boutiques and restaurants.
* Theatrical destinations, including: Broadway-style musical theater, Las Vegas-style floor shows, traditional Chinese theaters, and movie theaters
* Sports destinations, including: golf courses, stadiums suitable for Olympic events, tennis courts, an equestrian center, car and motorcycle race courses and a horse race track.
