Planned 20-story complex also to house restaurants and spa

Work could start next spring on One Grandview, a proposed $90 million hotel/condominium project planned for Pittsburgh's Mt. Washington. The 20-story development, which is slated to include a 163-room luxury hotel and 58 condominiums, two restaurants, a spa/fitness center and meeting rooms, recently won approval for its final design from Pittsburgh's planning commission. That action “clears the way for us to actively pursue financing for the project,” said Steve Beemsterboer, president of Sycamore Grandview Development Co.

To make way for the project, demolition of the former Edge Restaurant -- the key property on the site -- is expected by fall, along with the razing of four other vacant properties on the site.
