(August 2009) posted on Tue Aug 04, 2009 EDT

Pullman hotels, Accor's upscale brand, continues its aggressive expansion with addition of five properties in Asia -- two in Thailand, two in Shanghai and one in Vietnam. The new Pullmans are:

  • The 353-room Pullman Pattaya Aisawan in Thailand, (currently Aisawan Resort & Spa), which will be re branded at the end of 2009.
  • The new-build Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach in Thailand, whose 260 guest rooms and 20 villas are slated to open in late 2011.
  • The Pullman Shanghai Pudong Zhangjiang, a new 300 guest room hotel that will open in 2010.
  • The Pullman Shanghai South, which will open in mid 2013 with 305 rooms.
  • The 250-room Horison Hotel Hanoi will join the Pullman network in mid 2011.

"The Pullman brand is being very well received by owners looking for a new style of 5 star hotel, one that dispenses with need to over invest in construction and hardware," said Gaurav Bhushan, senior vice president development, Accor Asia Pacific.

There are currently 10 Pullman hotels and resorts in Asia, and the flag's development pipeline for the region is now totals 17 hotels. Longer term, Accor said it plans to have 100 Pullman hotels throughout Asia Pacific by 2015.
