Docked luxury liner now run by Evolution Hospitality

Evolution Hospitality has begun operating the moored Queen Mary luxury liner in Long Beach, Calif. Evolution Hospitality was selected to manage the former cruise ship by Save The Queen LLC, which leases the docked vessel and the surrounding 43 acres from the city of Long Beach.

Evolution Hospitality’s oversight includes the ship’s 314 staterooms, 80,000 sq. ft. of meetings space, museum and attraction ticket sales, special event production, retail outlets, and seven restaurant and bars. The company replaces Delaware North Co., which ended its relationship with Save the Queen LLC earlier this year, reports the Press-Telegram of Long Beach, Calif. Delaware North had been operating the ship since September 2009.

Other properties under Evolution Hospitality’s management include the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, the San Mateo Marriott, the Courtyard San Diego Mission Valley, the Courtyard Anaheim and Homewood Suites Seattle.
