Mumbai locale first of several planned for country

Red Door Spas, the largest day spa company in the world, plans to enter India by opening a locale in Mumbai early next year, the Hindustan Times reports. “India is evolving as a sophisticated market, so we thought it was the best time and place to set up our spa service,” Cornelia Zicu, chief creative officer of the Elizabeth Arden unit told the newspaper.
Beyond that initial opening in Mumbai, Zicu says the company plans “to have a presence in all the major metros” in the country. The move into India would be the first overseas foray by Red Door, which is based in Stamford, Conn., and operates 31 day spas across the U.S.
