Rezidor Hotel Group has named Marko Hytonen area vice president for the Middle East and Egypt. Hytonen replaces Jean-Marc Busato, who has been appointed president and managing director, Asia Pacific, for Carlson Hotels Worldwide.
"The Middle East is one of the most dynamic and vibrant hospitality markets in the world, and will continue to remain a core focus for Rezidor going forward," said Hytonen, an 18-year veteran at the hotel company. "Our commitment to this region is evidenced by the addition of new hotels throughout the Middle East, as well as the entry of both the Regent and Missoni brands over the next 12 months."
Brussels-based Rezidor operates more than 360 hotels under the Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, Regent Hotels & Resorts, Park Inn and Country Inns & Suites brands. In addition, Rezidor has signed a licensing agreement to develop and operate a lifestyle hotel brand with the Italian fashion house Missoni.
