100-key locale planned for SE Indiana resort
Full House Resorts says it will build a new, 100-room hotel at its Rising Star Casino Resort in southeast Indiana. Construction is expected to start in December and be completed in late 2012.
“The Rising Star Casino Resort Hotel operates near capacity the majority of the time, and the addition of a new 100-room hotel will make the property more competitive,” said Andre Hilliou, chairman and ceo of Full House Resorts.
The Rising Star complex, in Rising Sun, Ind., joins another nearby rival—the Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Ind.—in expanding its operations to better compete with a new Horseshoe Casino that will open in 2013 in nearby Cincinnati. The Rising Star resort currently consists of a riverboat casino with 40,000 sq. ft. of gaming space, a 201-room hotel, a pavilion with five food and beverage outlets, an 18-hole golf course and a multipurpose theater.
