Skyscraper locale is world’s highest hotel – for now
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong has opened on the top 16 floors of that city’s International Commerce Center skyscraper, making it the world’s highest hotel. The new luxury hotel, occupying floors 102 to 118 in the tower, features interiors by Singapore-based LTW.
The hotel features an arrival lobby on the 9th floor, where guests enter an express elevator to the hotel’s main lobby on the 103rd floor. In addition to 312 guest rooms, the hotel is home to The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, an ESPA spa, a grand ballroom and meeting rooms, and six dining venues, including the penthouse-level Ozone restaurant/bar.
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong is flag’s 16th hotel in Asia and 75th overall. It assumes the mantle of world’s highest hotel from the Park Hyatt at the Shanghai World Financial Center, which is on that skyscraper’s 79th through 93rd floors. But the Ritz-Carlton is slated to lose its “highest” status in 2014, when the Shanghai Tower J-Hotel opens.
