The Ritz-Carlton, Marriot International Inc.'s luxury brand, has named Herve Humler president and chief operations officer. Humler was one of the original founders of the Ritz-Carlton in 1983. Simon Cooper, who formerly held the post Humler is assuming, has been named Marriott International's president and managing director for Asia Pacific
FelCor Lodging Trust Inc. has promoted Troy Pentecost to executive vice president and chief operating officer. Pentecost joined FelCor as executive vice president and director of asset management in 2006.
David Shapiro has been hired as senior manager of business development at Crestline Hotels and Resorts. Shapiro was formerly director of acquisitions at JHM Hotels.
Mount Airy Casino Resort announced that George Toth has stepped down as president and ceo and that John Culetsu has been hired as executive vice president and general manager. Culetsu most recently managed the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. announced that Stephen Carley will join the company as ceo on Sept. 1. He was formerly president and ceo of El Pollo Loco Inc.
Stone Source has hired Steven Pickert as president and ceo. He was formerly president and ceo of IMC-International Marble Collection.
Duralee has promoted Samantha Baker to director of print product.

Charter Furniture said it is streamlining its operations by merging its Charter and Lodging by Charter divisions into one brand and by moving its operations into a plant in El Monte, Calif., that is owned by parent company Brown Jordan International.
Hooters American Restaurant and Sportsbar opened its first airport location, at the Frankfurt Airport in Germany. The restaurant seats 190 people, features 10 flat-screen monitors and includes a 70 person Biergarten.
Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.'s brand Element Denver Park Meadows hotel has been granted a Silver LEED certification.
