Royal Caribbean International's (RCI) more than 2,000 suites are getting a fresh look as part of a new initiative to enhance the line's premium stateroom offer. Modern touches such plush sofa-beds and the latest in in-room entertainment will be on board by 2010. The service menu will also have a makeover with VIP extras from dedicated security (where available) and check-in lines to private receptions with the captain and selected seating for shows. With one of the largest suite inventories in the hospitality industry, RCI will leverage these improvements to targets guests who want "a more exclusive vacation," says Lisa Bauer, RCI's senior vice president, hotel operations.
