Sands Chair Bets on India for Next Big Project

Operating the biggest gambling resort in Asia has not sated Las Vegas Sands chairman Sheldon Adelson's hunger for development. During this week's opening of the Four Seasons Macau, Travel Mole.com reported the proprietor of the Sands Macau and the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel wants to open similar properties in India. Adelson indicated his company would invest as much as $12 billion to develop a Cotai Strip in India, a country with only one legal casino located in Goa. Adelson's Las Vegas Sands is investing more than $15 billion building casinos in Singapore and Macau, and he plans to bring about 14 hotels to China's "Vegas" by 2013.
