Nazarian’s firm takes over Palihouse Hotel

SBE, Sam Nazarian's Los Angeles-based luxury hospitality, real estate development and lifestyle company, has added the former Palihouse Hotel in Hollywood to its portfolio. Nazarian said the property, to be known as the 1717 Vine Hotel, will be converted into “a new category, offering a contemporary approach to hospitality that features an innovative hotel suite experience and an entirely new restaurant concept.”

“At a time when the hospitality industry is undergoing a dynamic change, we're redefining the hotel suite experience, taking a curatorial approach to blending design elements and amenities that reflect SBE's signature style and dedication to service,” Nazarian said. To bring the vision to life, SBE said it will partner with a noted creative director to be announced at a later date. SBE will also have ownership of the brand to launch in other markets.

The cardinal-colored, 67-room Palihouse hotel at Hollywood and Vine was originally owned by developer At Palisades, and then purchased via a distressed sale earlier this by CIM Group, the LA Curbed web site reports.

In addition to 1717 Vine, SBA owns and/or operates the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, Las Vegas' Sahara Hotel & Casino, Miami's Ritz Plaza Hotel and the Four Points by Sheraton at Los Angeles International Airport. The company's restaurant and nightlife portfolio includes four Katsuya locations.
