Swedish lifestyle hotel chain c/o hotels (careofhotels) kicked off its US presence with the acquisition of the historic Maidstone Arms earlier this week. With a history stretching back to the 1740s, this 19-room East Hampton, New York inn fits the company's business model of reinventing heritage properties. Interior designer Nadia Tolstoy's renovation concept draws on Scandinavian inspiration, from 17th century references to the work of today's cutting edge firms. Contemporary international photography from c/o's owner and creative director Jenny Ljungberg's collection will provide focal points throughout the inn. Sustainability will be a major theme in the redesign. The property's new look debuts in May.
