HIRINGS/PROMOTIONS:

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, hired Joel Bloom as director of finance. Bloom most recently served as vice president of operations finance for the Canyons Resort Park City. 

Playa Hotels & Resorts hired Omar Palacios as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Palacios joins the company from Kerzner International Ltd.

Trump Entertainment Resorts hired 26-year gaming industry veteran Eddie Llambias as general manager of the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. Llambias most recently served as general manager of Treasure Bay Casino in the Bahamas.

Molinaro Koger, a real estate brokerage, advisory and capital markets firm, hired Stephen Pearlman as managing director of its capital markets group. Pearlman was formerly senior managing director at Beacon Hospitality Partners.

Horwath Hotels, Tourism and Leisure hospitality consulting group hired Loïc Gogue as part of its North African operation. 

OPENINGS/RENOVATIONS/BRAND NEWS:

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has opened the 433-key Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Centre in Milan, Italy. The locales was designed by King Roselli Architects and Saporiti Hotel Design.

W Hotels Worldwide opened the W Retreat & Spa Bali Seminyak. The property features architecture by SCDA Architects and interiors by AB Concept and Poole Associates Private Ltd.

T.G.I. Friday's franchise partner Franquicias Alimentarias SA opened the company's 350th international restaurant in Arequipa, Peru. Friday's plans to open 150 new international locations by 2015.

BUSINESS BRIEFS:

Inland American Lodging Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Inland American Real Estate Trust, acquired the 352-key Charleston Marriott Town Center in Virginia from Forest City Enterprises for $25.5 million.

Victoria + Albert, manufacturer of luxury tubs, sinks and faucets, announced its professional membership in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as an Industry Partner.
