200-key luxury locale will be housed in “horizontal skyscraper” in Shenzhen
Solís Hotels & Resorts is partnering with China Vanke Co. Ltd. to open the first Solis hotel in China. The Solís Vanke Center in Shenzhen, China, will be a luxury 200-room hotel and an adjoining, 86,000-sq.-ft. conference center. The conference center will open first, in June, followed by the hotel in the second quarter of 2012.
The design team for the project includes Steven Holl Architects and interior designer Jaya Ibrahim. The hotel will be located in Yantian, a seashore resort area within Shenzhen.
In addition to the hotel and conference center, the Vanke Center will house the offices of China Vanke Co. Ltd.—the country’s largest real estate developer— in a distinctive “horizontal skyscraper” designed by Holl.
