Boykin, Stoup team to form Trilogy Spa

Veteran hospitality executive Robert Boykin and beauty/cosmetic executive David Stoup have formed a new venture they say will “redefine the branded spa concept.” The co-founders said their new joint enterprise, Trilogy Spa Ventures, will create and manage proprietary spa brands, as well as develop retail opportunities on behalf of their clients.

“There is a great demand to be met in the branded spa business,” said Stoup, Trilogy's chairman and ceo. “Using my past experience in building beauty brands paired with Bob's expertise in the hospitality industry, we will redefine the spa category by creating powerful synergies between beauty brands and properties.”

Stoup's career includes his current position as co-chairman of Weil Lifestyle LLC, as well as co-founding La Prairie Inc., Phillip Kingsley Products Inc., Colours & Scents and Perry Ellis Shoes. In 1992, Stoup secured the exclusive worldwide rights to operate the Red Door Spas under the Elizabeth Arden trade name from Unilever. He oversaw the growth of Elizabeth Arden Salon Holdings as ceo until its sale to a private equity group in May 2000.

Boykin's career in the hospitality industry has involved property operations, corporate administration and real estate development/acquisitions at The Boykin Group and Boykin Management Co. The latter firm has operated over 20,000 hotel rooms in twenty states as independent resorts, hotels and conference centers, including Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn, Hilton, Marriott and Radisson properties.
