Coffee chain plans 1,000 more stores in country
Starbucks Coffee Co. has opened its 500th store in China, with plans to open 1,000 more locales in that country by 2015. The chain’s 500th store in China is in the international departure hall of the Beijing Capital International Airport Terminal 3. In all, Starbucks now operates seven locales in that airport.
To commemorate the opening of that landmark store, company officials held a celebration at the Starbucks Full Link store in Beijing’s central business district. Starbucks said that fully renovated store showcases the company’s new store design concept in China, which features a fusion of indigenous and Western design elements.
