Starwood Capital is in talks to sell part its Concorde Groupe to Saudi investor JJW Hotels & Resorts, the New York Times' International Herald Tribune reports. Starwood Capital, which owns 12 luxury hotels through Concorde, told the newspaper it is in the early stages of negotiations with JWW, a unit of MBI International that already owns about 60 hotels and tourist resorts in Europe. A sale would include the Concorde La Fayette and Lutetia in Paris, the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, and the Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice. Contrary to previous published reports, the properties for sale do not include two Paris landmarks, the Hôtel de Crillon and Hôtel du Louvre. A Saudi newspaper report said the hotels could be valued at as much as $2 billion, but neither company would confirm the figure.
