Upscale flag adding five properties in the two countries
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has announced plans to add five more properties to its Luxury Collection. In Peru, the company has opened the Hotel Paracas and plans to open the Tambo del Inka resort/spa in Urubamba later this year, followed by the 2011 opening of Palacio del Inka hotel in Cusco. In China, the company will open The Astor Hotel, Tianjin, in May after a $22 million renovation, followed by The Malus Sanya, a new-build resort set to debut in late 2012.
Originated in 1906 as a collection of Europe's most celebrated and iconic properties, today The Luxury Collection brand includes 75 high-end hotels and resorts in more than 30 countries.
