St. Regis hotel, W Retreat & Spa to debut in early 2011
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will open two high-profile projects in early 2011 in Southeast Asia: The St. Regis Bangkok and the W Retreat & Spa Bali-Seminyak in Indonesia.
The new St. Regis hotel will occupy floors 12-24 of a 47-story building on Bangkok's Rajadamri Road, and will include 176 guest rooms, 51 suites and 53 residences. The hotel will also offer the first Elemis Spa in Thailand, along with several restaurants and bars.
The development, by Minor International PLC, marks the first St. Regis in Thailand and Indochina. “Setting a new standard for luxury in Thailand, The St. Regis Bangkok will be ideally positioned to cater to both influential business travelers and discerning leisure travelers,” said Andreas Oberoi, the hotel's general manager.
The new W Retreat in Indonesia, meantime, will be home to 158 villa retreats and suites. The project will also be home to an Away spa and several restaurants and bars. “W Retreat & Spa Bali-Seminyak will redefine the resort experience and bring a new and distinctive product to the hotel market in Indonesia,” said Miguel Ko, president and chairman of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific.
