Customer satisfaction with Europe's economy and mid-scale hotel segments rose this year over 2007's levels, according a new study from J.D. Power and Associates. "Economic concerns are leading cost-conscious travelers to increasingly select economy and mid-scale full-service hotels, which have performed well in fulfilling customer expectations," said Jim Gaz, senior director of J.D. Power's travel practice. Dorint Hotels & Resorts ranked highest in the mid-scale full service category, while Premier Inn led the economy brands. The study measured customer feelings on the costs and fees; guest rooms; hotel facilities; food and beverage; check-in/check-out; hotel services; and reservations of 45 hotel brands.
