Company’s latest five-star hotel opens in Kolkata
Swissotel Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel in India, the Swissotel Kolkata, adjacent to the City Centre New Town Mall. In addition to 147 guest rooms and suites, the new five-star hotel features four restaurants and bars, meeting and banquet space, a spa and fitness center and a rooftop swimming pool.
With the opening of the Kolkata locale, Zurich-based Swissotel (a unit of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International) has a total of 29 properties worldwide. Also in the company's pipeline are two locales slated to open next year -- in Dresden, Germany, and Makkah, Saudi Arabia, respectively – followed in 2012 by a unit in Kiev, Ukraine.
