The Artmore Hotel Opens in Atlanta … and More Industry News

OPENINGS AND RENOVATIONS:

The Artmore Hotel has opened in the former Granada Suites Hotel in midtown Atlanta. The 85-year-old property was renovated by two Atlanta-based firms, Urbana Realty Advisors and Jamestown & Associates, and is being managed by Boutique Hospitality Management of Miami.

c/o Hotels, the Scandinavian lifestyle hotel company, will open its newly renovated c/o The Maidstone in East Hampton, N.Y., on May 19. The hotel formerly operated as the Maidstone Arms.

A 64-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson has opened in Dothan, Ala.

HIRINGS AND PROMOTIONS:

Scott Ingwers has been named managing director of Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki Beach Walk, Hawaii, which is scheduled to open later this year

The Kahala Hotel & Resort, Hawaii, has hired Thomas Pauly as its general manager. The 338 room property, which recently underwent a $52 million upgrade, is managed by Landmark Hotels Group.

BUSINESS BRIEFS:

The Sea Links Golf & Country Club in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, has joined the RCI Network of Affiliated Resorts.

AWARDS:

The renovated Holiday Inn in Gaithersburg, Md., has been presented with the "Gaithersburg Environmental Award" by city officials for its efforts to improve the town's environment. Eco-friendly features installed at the hotel include energy-efficient windows, compact fluorescent lighting and low-flow toilets.

Superior Uniform Group Inc. announced that its customer, the Hilton Santa Fe, won in the hotels-single location category in this year's National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors "Image of the Year" competition."
