A federal judge has approved The Greenbrier Resort's exit from bankruptcy court under the ownership of Justice Family Group, a West Virginia-based company. In addition, the resort's new owner has a tentative agreement to allow Marriott International to market The Greenbrier. According to several published reports, if that deal can't be finalized within 30 days, Justice must pay Marriott a $7.5 million breakup fee.
As reported earlier, Marriott had planned to buy the resort from previous owner CSX Corp., and said it planned to continue seeking that ownership after the sale to the Justice firm was announced earlier this month.
