W Hotels Worldwide encourages guests to spend some serious hang time in the Living Room lobby/lounges within its properties. New York-based I©RAVE took that concept literally in the new W Atlanta-Midtown, by outfitting its common area with a contemporary circular hammock. That padded seating-part of designers' efforts to put a hip twist on the archetypal Southern porch-sits in front of a window wall that overlooks a terrace lounge. (Snugglers on the hammock who want a bit more privacy can pull a sheer curtain across the window.) Above is a circular ceiling cutout that also helps bring the outdoors inside. A large mirror reflects the rhythm of the surrounding glass walls, while also helping make the space feel bigger.
