The Tropicana Las Vegas has opened its updated rooms and suites in its Paradise and Island towers. The renovated rooms at the 1,658-key property are part of a $165 million makeover the 53-year-old Strip property is undergoing under the auspices of owners the Onex Corp. and former MGM Grand executive Alex Yemenidjian, who acquired the property last year.
Tropicana's owners say the new rooms are designed to capture a South Beach vibe by utilizing a sunset palette of warm shades, plantation shutters and a sleek chaise. Other aspects of the renovation including updating its casino floor, meeting/exhibition space, tropical pool area, as well as adding new restaurants, bars, a poker room and a race and sports book. Slated to open later this year is the Las Vegas Mob Experience, an interactive entertainment venue, and coming next year is the world's largest Nikki Beach lounge/nightclub/café complex.
