Design firms looking to fill their boards might want to plan a trip to Tucson. Inside Tucson Business carried on AzBiz.com reports that 13 hotels are set to open within the city limits by 2013.
The most visible of the baker's dozen is a planned $192-million, 525-room Sheraton that would give the city a new downtown convention hotel. Other proposals include the Marriott University Park Hotel; a full-service hotel at the University of Arizona's BioScience Park at Kino Parkway and four hotels near the University of Arizona's Science and Technology Park on Rita Road. Now, it will be up to the lending community to decide how many of the deals actually get done.
