New franchise group includes former Hooters ceo
It’s being called the battle of the “breastaurant” chains. Twin Peaks, a 15-unit casual-dining chain, announced that an investment group led by several top former Hooters executives has signed on to open 35 Twin Peaks restaurants in six states over the next 10 years.
The majority partner of the franchise group is Coby Brooks, who until last month was president and ceo of Atlanta-based Hooters of America LLC. The franchise group also includes several other former high-level Hooters executives.
“To have these proven industry pros recognize the potential of Twin Peaks and want to be a part of that growth speaks volumes about the foundation we have put in place,” said Twin Peaks co-founder and ceo Randy DeWitt. “There is no doubt that this will have a major impact on our expansion plans.”
In the aftermath of Twin Peaks’ announcement about Brooks becoming one of its franchisees, the 435-unit Hooters of America chain said it has hired Terrance Marks as its president and ceo, effective this fall. Marks was previously president and ceo of The Pantry Inc., a chain of more than 1,650 convenience stores in 13 states.
