Deal expands pub/restaurant operator’s holdings by 43 locales
The Orchid Group, the U.K.'s largest independent managed pub and restaurant operator, has acquired 43 businesses from Premium Bars & Restaurants plc, which has been in administration (the British version of bankruptcy). The deal includes The Living Room and Prohibition brands, as well as several bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
Over the next year, Orchid said it plans to roll out a $4.8 million capital investment program across its holdings. The Premium Bars & Restaurants deal is Orchid's second such transaction this year, after taking Bar Room Bar's profitable sites out of bankruptcy six months ago. “This latest purchase further cements Orchid's commitment to growth, and we are delighted to have completed what is an important development for the business,” said ceo Rufus Hall.
