U.S. hotels' average daily rate (ADR) fell 5 to 7 percent in September from a year earlier, and their revenue per available room (RevPAR) fell 2 to 4 percent during the same period, statistics compiled by Smith Travel Research (STR) show. The performance figures, based on hotels accounting for about 2.8 million guest rooms, showed drops in both categories across all sectors, ranging from luxury to economy.
