Union Square Hospitality Group announced it has been selected to create a new restaurant for Ian Schrager's Gramercy Park Hotel in New York. In addition, USHG will also run all of the hotel's food and beverage operations, including room service, banquets and private events.
USHG said the new restaurant will be designed by Rockwell Group, will feature Italian theme and is expected to open in the fall. The New York Times said the new restaurant will replace the Waikiya Chinese restaurant, which closed in December.
USHG operates such restaurant concepts as Union Square Café, Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Tabla, Blue Smoke/Jazz Standard, The Modern and Shake Shack.
