Lolita’s Cantina and Tequila Bar to feature digital video system
The new Lolita's Cantina and Tequila Bar in Las Vegas will be home to a state-of-the-art holographic entertainment system. The bar, owned by veteran hospitality developer Eric DeBiasi and celebrity chef Carlo Cavallo, will feature a central theater equipped with high-definition holographic video system created by Digital Illusions LLC. The bar's owners say the holographic entertainment is the first of its kind in a U.S. nightclub.
Ann DeVilbiss, Digital Illusions' owner and creative director, believes the Lolita's installation, which is slated to debut July 22, “will change business as usual in Las Vegas. Imagine having a library of hundreds or thousands of clips of entertainers, magicians, comedians and dancers, ... each one ready to perform at a moment's notice. Each one is surrounded by special effects and magical appearances and disappearances. But most importantly, each one looks totally real.”
Digital Illusions will team with film director and club developer Rick Haynes to create content for the Lolita's installation. “We will be looking for all kinds of talent here in Las Vegas to film for this technology,” says Haynes. “We know this is where the best live entertainment exists and why we are opening the first holographic theater here.”
